About Us and About Praha Bohemian Bakery & Cafe
Praha Bohemian Bakery and Cafe is a family owned and operated local bakery in the heart of Crozet. The owners, Markéta and Bill, met in a castle in Idar-Oberstein Germany in 1999 and in 2001 they were married in the Průhonice district of Prague, Markéta’s home town. Markéta and Bill spent countless hours with each other and friends in the wonderful cafes of Prague and Central Europe. You can often find the entire family working at the bakery with their daughter working as a barista, their oldest son working as a baker when he is home from college and their youngest son, a middle schooler, primarily responsible for “HR” and “customer outreach.”
Marketa
Markéta was born and raised in Prague and moved to the United States at the age of 26. She has a master’s degree in International Trade and Commercial Languages from the University of Economics in Prague. She speaks several languages and loves meeting people from all over the world.
Bill
Bill is originally from Denver, Colorado and spent 22 years as an active duty Army Officer, serving in the Infantry and the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Bill has a degree in Engineering Physics and Nuclear Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
